THIS WEEK: 5/7/23

Question #35: Since we are redeemed, by grace alone, through faith alone, where does this faith come from?

Answer #35: From the Holy Spirit.

Verse of the Week: “But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior.” Titus 3:4-6

Bible Passage of the Week for Kids: Titus 3:1-7

Bible Passage of the Week for Teens: Titus 3:1-7

Suggested Discussion Questions for parents to talk about with your kids:

  1. What are some ways that the Holy Spirit helps believers? For kids, you can review the worksheet you did in class.

  2. How do you feel knowing that as believers the Holy Spirit lives within you? How can that encourage us to share Christ with others?

  3. Last week you read Galatians 5:22-23 and evaluated what good fruits you already show and what fruits you need to improve. Did you show any of the good fruits you needed to work on this week? How can you show them this coming week?

Last Week: 4/30/23

Question #34: Since we are redeemed by grace alone, through Christ alone, must we still do good works and obey God's Word?

Answer #34: Yes, so that our lives may show love and gratitude to God; and so that by our godly behavior others may be won to Christ.

Verse of the Week: “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul. Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.” 1 Peter 2:9-12

Suggested Discussion Questions for parents to talk about with your kids:

  1. Why might desiring to obey God (or doing good works) be helpful for our growth but not required?

  2. How might you encourage another believer to obey the Lord, even when it might be hard to do?

  3. Read Galatians 5:22-23 & look at your life. What good fruits do you show? What good fruits do you need to work on?
